THE PRODUCT

The view of the novel wine talent.

The temperature of the wine

The interior of the Sensorbottle consists of several chambers that contain a reference liquid calibrated to wine, as well as the necessary electronics. Since wine liquid reacts much more sluggishly to changes in the room, with the Sensorbottle you experience for the first time how the storage conditions and temperature fluctuations arrive inside the bottle.

The communication

The Sensorbottle has an LCD touch display to show the current status as well as all individual measured values.

The Sensorbottle stores all captured data on an internal memory. Once a wireless connection is established, all data is transferred to the PWT Cloud for use in the app.

The app

With the app, you can conveniently keep an eye on all values relating to the situation in your wine storage facility from a distance. In addition to the historical data and the development, the app offers an alarm function. The app is available for Android and iOS.

One Sensorbottle can be linked to multiple accounts and played back on multiple devices. In the event of critical situations, a warning is issued via the APP.

The bottle in detail

In addition to measuring the temperature change in the reference liquid as an essential parameter, the temperature of the ambient air is measured at both points. After all, this determines the short-, medium- or long-term temperature development of the wine.

Measuring the humidity of the ambient air ensures that a climate can be established in which the corks cannot dry out. The ideal here - depending on doctrine - is between 65 and 75% rLf.

The measuring sensors for ambient temperature and humidity are located at the neck of the bottle for ideal air circulation.

A UVA sensor in the shoulder of the bottle detects the UVA rays hitting the bottle while lying or standing and calculates a UV index from this. If UVA is measured, a corresponding warning appears on the display and the acoustic alarm is activated.

Why?

The UVA component of sunlight easily penetrates uncoated window glass and ensures that plants can also grow indoors. Put simply, UVA does not make you brown, but it does cause your skin to age. We are in the same situation as wine: its aging is also accelerated unfavorably when UVA hits the wine.

The green glass, from which most wine bottles are made, filters only about 30% of UVA radiation. The rest gets into the bottle. How much of this remains in the bottle as energy depends primarily on the color of the wine and the amount of lees. In a heavy, dark Tempranillo from Rioja (dark and dense), for example, almost all of the UVC is absorbed and leads to the destruction of tannin and primary fruit aromas. The only remedy here - besides the complete exclusion of sunlight - is glass with a special coating or film and foils in which the bottle is wrapped, as is occasionally seen, for example, in high-quality Prestige champagnes.

A 2.8" TFT touch display is integrated into the Sensorbottle , which enables configuration and operation of the system and displays the current status.

In addition to the current temperature of the reference liquid, the deviation from the reference temperature, the temperature and humidity of the ambient air and the UV index are displayed.

A summary display of the current "state of mind" of the wine simplifies the control of the storage temperature.

If the limit values are exceeded, the corresponding numbers are displayed in red (too warm) or blue (too cold).
A corresponding warning additionally points out the exceeding/falling below.

The Sensorbottle has a pressure tank containing a reference liquid that behaves thermally very similar to wine.

It was modeled after a full-bodied white wine with 13% alcohol by volume and 6g residual sugar.

Inside the reference liquid there are three digital immersion sensors of different lengths, which - if the Sensorbottle is positioned correctly - can measure the temperature of the reference liquid in three layers. This enables faster detection of cooling and heating of the wine.

They use this port to power the Sensorbottle via the included USB-C cable and power adapter.

We attach importance to

The Sensorbottle never moves more than 25 km from our headquarters during the production process. From the production of the housing by our 3D printers, to the assembly of the electronics, the filling of the tank, the testing, the painting, the final quality check and the handover to the deliverer. You could actually also say: it is a regional product.

In addition, our Sensorbottle is a sustainable measuring device. The bottle was designed so that it does not have to be disposed of in case of defects, but can be repaired by us at any time.

It's all a matter of taste.

The Sensorbottle is available in various designs: Whether the classic Bordeaux bottle, as magnum or double magnum, in matte black, high gloss white or other colors - if required, you can individualize beyond our standard product.
